COVINGTON TWP. Pa., Nov. 1, 2024 – As the school year starts back up, everyone anticipates the Friday night football games and before they even know it, the season comes to an end. Football games can be an important part of the average high school students’ year.
Having something that motivates students is extremely important. That is a reason why Friday night football is such a popular event. Although students struggle with finishing the school week, they remember how there is a game waiting for them at the end of the week. Motivation is an amazing thing to have. When asking cheerleader Lucilla Bolsar her opinion on this, she stated, “As a cheerleader I find a lot of joy at the end of the week, I love what I do.” Everyone has something that motivates them. Whether that’s a person, quote, or in this case, an event. If students don’t have something to look forward to, they will never try to work harder. To be able to have the opportunity to make amazing memories with friends at the football games is a privilege.
Making memories is certainly something high school students will thank themselves for later. After asking Junior Addison Szakmary her take on football games, she stated, “football games will always be one of my favorite school events. The energy is so light-hearted and full of charisma.” Many students don’t notice, but as they get older they will wish they made more time for memories. Football games are the perfect way to capture these moments. The different themes give students the chance to match with friends or just dress up for fun. Those kinds of moments are the ones you don’t forget.
Throughout a students career, football games mean a lot to some of them. The memories they will forever cherish, and having something to look forward to at the end of the week can make a monumental bond between a student and their high school journey. This excitement can cause students to work their hardest for the reward of a good football game.
