Joseph DiMattio is the son of Mary Jane and Joseph DiMattio. He has
taken 13 AP classes throughout high school. Joseph holds leadership
positions in many organizations and clubs including Science Olympiad
Membership Chairman, Student Council Vice-President, Model United
Nations Head Delegate, Mathletes President, and a captain of the tennis
team. Joseph is also involved with La Festa Italiana, volunteering each
Labor Day weekend at the event. In addition, he is very involved with his
church, St. Catherine of Siena, being an altar server and working as a
sacristan at the parish. Joseph is also employed at Kay’s Italian
Restaurant. He has also been involved in other activities such as the
American Legion’s Boy State program, piano, and photography. Joseph
has received many awards including the AP Scholar with Distinction award,
Science Olympiad Medals, and Model United Nations best delegate and
head delegate awards. After high school Joseph hopes to study
mechanical engineering and serve in the United States Armed Forces.
Nicole Marshall is the daughter of Yannie and Wayne Marshall. She is
currently taking 5 AP courses, and she will have taken 11 AP courses total
by graduation. Maintaining high honors throughout high school, she is
ranked 5th of her class. Nicole is the corresponding secretary for the
Science Olympiad Team, a section leader in orchestra, and a member of
Mathletes and Art Club. Outside of school, she has auditioned and qualified
to play at Carnegie Hall and Dorothy Sutton Festival Recitals at the local
and state level for piano performance. She has also earned a blue belt in
jiu-jitsu and has trained in martial arts for 10 years. After graduation, she
plans to pursue a career as a physician assistant.
Kyle Mizenko is the son of Michael and Christine Mizenko. Kyle is taking
advantage of the academic offerings in his senior year to prepare for
college by forgoing study halls and senior privileges with challenging
classes like AP Physics II, AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, AP Computer
Science A, AP Calculus, and AP Literature. Kyle received high honors
throughout high school, placing in the top 10 every year and is currently
ranked 8th. Kyle is an executive board member of Science Olympiad and a
medalist in both state and regional competitions. He also is a Rifle team
member, a mathletes member, and captain of the varsity boys tennis team.
He was one of 70 out of 524 applicants to be accepted to the Pennsylvania
Governor's School for the Sciences(PGSS). His time at PGSS culminated
in a published research paper on the chemistry of over the counter
supplements. After graduation, Kyle plans to attend the University of
Pennsylvania for their materials engineering program and hopes to become
an engineer.
