About the Contributors

Max Malec, Year 3
Max Malec is a Trojan T.V. anchor and a Trojan Voice Newspaper staff writer, with experience in and a deep love for sports and sports journalism. Max’s background consists of various camps including the Penn State Donald P. Bellisario Broadcast Journalism Summer Camp and The Washington Journalism and Media Conference hosted by George Mason University. Through these experiences, he has been able to strengthen his knowledge in the areas of physical and digital media and journalism. Max’s deep passion for sports and sports journalism is what keeps him driven to accomplish some of the highest goals in the business. These goals consist of being an analyst of ESPN’s CollegeGameday and being a play-by-play announcer for any of the major networks. In addition, Max has an interest in constantly learning more about the field of journalism as a whole and how he can make himself, as well as those around him, better.
Max is a firm believer in the concept of hard work beats talent and everything that success is earned, not given. While Max has no shortage of talent, his constant desire to be better and improve those around him make him successful.

Julia Kennedy, Year 2
Julia Kennedy is a second-year journalism student at North Pocono. She joined the class for the writing, but quickly became enthusiastic about the film aspect as well. She enjoys every part of the class, but is especially interested in interviewing others and forming better relationships through her efforts. Along with that, she isn’t one to shy away from making fun of herself on camera- so long as the same won’t happen in person. She is proud of her more recent contributions to Trojan TV, and how she’s opened up to new opportunities presented to her.
Though she considers herself a quiet person, Julia is always open to conversation and learning more about those around her and the stories they have to share.

Alaina Kelly is a junior and a first year journalism student who decided to take journalism to enhance her writing skills and explore new opportunities. With her great love for skiing, Alaina hits the slopes as often as she can during the season. She also has been swimming since she was two-years-old and is determined to continue her swimming career for as long as possible. As the youngest of four children, Alaina has two older brothers and one older sister. She grew up on Long island but moved to Clark Summit, PA, in the seventh grade, where she attended Abington Heights until her sophomore year before transferring to North Pocono. Despite the move, Alaina frequently visits Long Island to enjoy the beach and reconnect with family and friends.

Lily Judge is a senior and first year Journalism student. Lily decided to take the class due to her love of socializing and meeting new people. She also wanted to enhance her writing ability. What drew Lily’s attention the most, was the weekly production of the Trojan Television. She looks forward to watching it every Friday morning, and is excited to get a spin inside the TTV studio herself. With college approaching next year, Lily’s hoping this class boosts her confidence with writing papers, essays, research papers, articles, etc. After Lily’s time at North Pocono, she plans on majoring in communications, with possibly a business or theater minor.
