About the Contributors

Julia Kennedy, Year 2
Julia Kennedy is a second-year journalism student at North Pocono. She joined the class for the writing, but quickly became enthusiastic about the film aspect as well. She enjoys every part of the class, but is especially interested in interviewing others and forming better relationships through her efforts. Along with that, she isn’t one to shy away from making fun of herself on camera- so long as the same won’t happen in person. She is proud of her more recent contributions to Trojan TV, and how she’s opened up to new opportunities presented to her.
Though she considers herself a quiet person, Julia is always open to conversation and learning more about those around her and the stories they have to share.

Giada Bahamonde, Year 1
Giada Bahamonde is a first year Journalism student in the eleventh grade. With her interest in working in the media field, she decided this class would be a great place to start. She hopes to work in the NHL on a media team in the future. This comes from her love of hockey that started at an early age. Because she can’t ice skate without embarrassing herself, working on a media team would be a better career choice. Since this is her first year, she does not have a lot of experience, but she is excited to learn how to do everything.

Vivian Santiago, Year 1
Vivian Santiago is a student working in Journalism class. With an affinity for English and writing overall, she is hoping to grow and expand her ability to write clearly and efficiently. Her interest in the arts don’t end here, having taken vocal practice and performing roles since she was eight. Literary and oral clarity is a huge part of her personal philosophy for writing. She believes local and country-wide information should be brought to the average person’s attention more easily and efficiently, in terms anyone could understand while still remaining an intellectually stimulating artform. In a world of internal bias and rumor culture, Vivian believes that by being unapologetically authentic and genuine in her news articles will slowly help repair the reputation of the national journalism world stage.

Ciara Bates, Year 1
Ciara Bates is currently in her sophomore year of high school. She was born in Cape May, New Jersey, and was raised in Clearwater, Florida. In 2017, Ciara and her family moved to Pennsylvania after deciding they needed a change of scenery. She came into the North Pocono School District when she was just 8-years-old. Throughout her years of school she realized how lucky she was to be in this district. Ciara wants to take on interior designing for her future. She has a great passion for organizing and decorating, but of course if all else fails then she hopes to become a news reporter. Joining Journalism this year really helped her with her passion for writing. She believes that she is the best she’s ever been at writing. Hopefully she will be able to make her dreams come true, as she will work hard.
